The Poem
🎃 Nearing the night of All Hallow’s Eve,
During a crisp autumn day for all to see,
Ceadda is trick-or-treating with much delight in his heart,
To enjoy 2020s candies, even if some are sour and tart!
Such sweets don't exist in 3033;
Candy yes, but in simulation only.
For on this night Ceadda will try them all,
To his heart's content he skips alone in this autumn’s fall.
Also, it was easy as no costume is needed,
To freely show his angel-form without the town’s suspicion seeded.
In his kind and innocent heart, he believes Halloween to be sincere,
A time of sharing candy and love between mortals to hold dear.
Yet his naive kindness gives way to a bit of fear,
As the faint bats flapping in the sky he could now hear.
The cats peer from the shadows as a raven perched so stoic,
Ceadda, usually so brave, but right now not feeling quite heroic.
Upon the sight of a fallen angel in the distance,
He clutches his cat candy tub, walking away in resistance.
His heart raced as it became hard to breathe,
As the Sun sets on this night of All Hallow’s Eve. 🐈⬛
Ceadda visits one last house in hopes of just one more treat,
He then notices silence growing as he’s alone out on the street.
He’s stayed out for far too long,
The last thing he’ll do today is sing a song.
Swiftly running home with fear in his heart,
Why did I stay out so late? That wasn’t so smart.
All the ghoulishly grim tales of Halloween creeping into his mind,
For there is no place that is safe but inside.
At home, he locks the door and leaps into bed…
Surely I am safe now. Pulling the blankets tightly over his head.
Ceadda curls up tight, wishing for blissful sleep to come
To wash away these fears... Won’t this night just be done?
But something is creeping just outside,
Someone he knows from which he can not hide.
Stirring in dark echoes, he feels it now,
Fearful chills sweep in swiftly somehow.
Ceadda pulls the blanket tightly from face to toe,
Shakingly he hears the scratching on his window.
For his moment of peace was short-lived,
As Lucius the fallen angel has arrived.
Lucius tempting fate with a mischievous grin,
"Come out and play, oh dear friend,"
Inspiring Ceadda to embrace the darkness for just one night…
His temptations slowly grow, thinking of one more bite.
Ceadda opens his eyes as Lucius's words inspire,
Growing sharp in his mouth, the fangs of his inner vampire.🦇

I know the day now will bring, ominous events unseen,
The Sun snuck away to escape this night of Halloween.
Dream spells are falling,
From the full moon's glowing,
Upon the ghostly Grim's flowing,
Into nightmarish towns,
Flip those smiles into frowns,
Halloween's rising the dead,
A crescent filled dream of dread.
You can lockup your door,
You can pray on the floor,
You can sprinkle the salt,
None of this is our fault.
Run from the fears,
Faces full of tears,
But from this nightmare you can never leave,
For this is the night of All Hallows' Eve.
Dream spells are falling,

In desperate need of a hug.
The streets are alive with wild cats,
The air thick with thirsty bats.
You can try to sleep now,
But you can feel it somehow,
Halloween is calling,
For your vampire's allure in mauling.
